OUR STORY

It began in February 2005 with dinner and a movie. From that day on, God had plans. In December 2005 Heath and Jennifer where married and both continued working on Heaths family's dairy. Berndt Family Farms

In 2009 Heaths father unexpectedly passed away, and the family decided to keep on farming. Since 2005 we have had our 3 kids, who are living life the best way possible, as farm kids. We have kept the dairy going working with Heaths mother and brothers.

ABOUT GRASSY LANE ACRES LLC

We started Grassy Lane Acres in 2023 after the purchase of our own chunk of land. Back in 2017 or so Heath started getting into No-Till for the land. Which then led him into Regenerative Farming. After watching hours upon hours of YouTube videos on the topic. He started using the same principles on the dairy. We stopped plowing, went to minimal tillage, and no-till planting. Which then led him to planting cover crops and soil health. Then as the dairy progressed, we started going to some seminars and conferences. Which opened a whole new door to sap analysis and tissue samples, along with foliar application of nutrients. And the understanding of how modern farming is not only destroying our soils, but our earth and health. Which really opened our eyes, so we decided we want to start producing better food. Not only for our family but for others as well. We process our own poultry on farm, have our own egg processing plant, and use local butchers for the meat. We try to grow or buy our own grain locally and try our best to support others.

Pastured - Non Gmo - Grassfed

Here at Grassy Lane Acres we strive to produce a more nutritional dense food product. By focusing on regenerative farming practices, improving soil health thus healthier plants and animals. We try to limit the use of herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides on our crops. And focus more on foliar application of key nutrients to make the plant as healthy as possible. By having healthier plants means more nutrients available to the livestock, which equals a more nutrient healthy food product.
